Video Installation, Gloucester Cathedral 2012

Gloucester Cathedral is one of the most beautiful medieval buildings in the country. Merged into the magnificent Gothic arches in the north transept, ‘Counting the Changes’, made in collaboration with Arabella Lee, floats as an atmospheric moving trompe l’oeil.

Multiple, silent projections of the Cathedral’s twelve bell Carillion and the immense Great Peter (England’s only remaining medieval ‘great bell’), chime their unique melody of time in repetition and change, as music from the Cathedral’s imposing organ holds the majestic movements of these haunting instruments within a wall of sound.
